It’s amazing how the world suddenly feels very small when you can get so much information just out of the internet. I mean starting from shopping to paying bills, to reading news, to keeping tabs on friends, it is just amazing big network that is truely the world wide web in more sense than one. Think about it, becuz of the net, I can chat with my friends at downtown to the ones in Bangladesh. Also I can read up their latest endeavours on their blogs and keep tabs on them that way. Not to mention that at times we get to related ideas back and forth on just blog comments. That is just the start, then we have more new technologies that are just making things simpler, faster and useful. Think about technologies that going from sharing whiteboard to voice and video conversation. The world may be big, but just as getting from one part to another is just a matter of having the resources, so is keeping tabs on things all around the globe.

Change is inevitable, but this much?
Just when I thought that the change in life could not be any bigger, bam! There’s one more change to account for. Actually I knew that this one was coming but I only could not comprehend it until of late. My sister is coming to Charlotte, NC for grad school. And of course being 5 hours away from me will make quit a change in my lie. I mean come on, how can I be only 5 hours away and not go to see her often. She’s scheduled to come back with me, which is awesome and then she’ll be here for a week before I go and drop her off (just becuz I’m such a nice guy).
This, however, also means that I have to kinda change some of my plans for thanx giving, but do not fear. I really do want to go to California this turn.
EU Software patents are no go!
It’s all over the news! After months of trying, European Parliament have finally said no to Software Patents! So unlike the USA, software companies cannot patent stupid software ideas and have monopoly for no apparent reason. We all know that patents are good. They are supposed to protect the developer from having the miraculous idea in the first place. The only problem is that lately the patents which are awarded have not been like that. I mean come on, 1-click shopping, user in typing, how much stupid would they get? You want more?
At least we know that the EU would not allow such stupid patents to go thru. Not that there aren’t some out there already. let’s just hope this decision sticks and we see tons of new innovations in the years to come.
