Happy New Year

I was gonna write about World peace and anti-war and all that, but I thought I’d just dedicate this post to all the friends I have had, still have and will have over the years. After my family they are the ones who help me thru life and all. So hope you all have a great new year… even the ones who will not know that I wished them.

Happy New Year.

TIME magazine’s TV show of year

I guess I could say I told you so, but some how that would not be enough. Why don’t you just go down the list that TIME has up for you. But do notice that the number 1 this time is Battlestar Gallactica. It’s just that good. I can’t wait for it to start again on Jan 6th.

Washington DC and Atlantic City

Just 2 days before the Xmas holidays kicked in, Aj calls up and claims that he’d die if he doesn’t make it to Atlantic City. Ok, fine, he didn’t exactly say that but he was jumping up and down so much that he just might have. What started with a conversation between me and him ushered a chain of phone calls which immediately became a 5 person trip to DC and then a 6 person trip to Atlantic City. This probably was one of my most spontaneous decision on such a long trip. At least 10 hrs of driving just to DC and then 4 more hours after that to Atlantic City. To get the most bang for the buck, we decided not to rent and decided on starting Thursday night.

And so the adventure started around 10 pm Thursday and by 8 am Friday morning we were waking up Aj so that he can be a host. After some small trips here and there, we started our way to Atlantic City with only directions from Google Maps that we won’t follow anyways. Regardless of all that we did finally end up in Atlantic City after taking an hour long tour of a bunch of shitholes townships.

Ah. Atlantic City. What joy. Just waking down the roads are awesome enough. Screaming names of all the streets that we already have seen tons of times on the Monopoly board. On the other hand I would claim that the casinos were disappointing except may be the Taj Mahal, Tropicana and Ceasers. Actually Ceasers was probably not that savvy either, but the Toga bar made up for that. The Casbah club was an awesome place to rock too, but I just wish it wasn’t a $20 cover.

It was still a blast and I still think it was all a dream as I can’t count 4 days on the whole trip as it felt like just 2. It could be the 28 hours of driving, but I’m not sure. Eitherways, watch out for pictures.

Sometimes I wonder..

..what’s wrong with this world? And becuz of that, this song just got stuck in my head.

Ami bujhina keno eki mathitey
Keno eto rokter ronger khela.
Ami janina keno eki manusher
Eki sporshey keno eto chouwa.

Asian Highway

I think it would be wonderful to have a network of highways that connects the all of Asia. If I ever save up enough money I’d drive around the southern caost at least. Either way I think it’s great that Bangladesh have finally decided to join in and let this thing happen. At least two highways in Bangladesh can be hoped to be in top shape, is nothing else. From the looks of it one might go close enough to my grandma’s to provide a faster route to her place.

Now if we could only figure out a way to fix all the traffic problems….
