Sylvee’s getting better

As some of you may or may not know, Sylvee got into a cat fight last Friday. The other cat gnawed on her arm and scratch a small part of the skin off her belly. The visit to the vet this Friday confirmed that she has been healing well. In fact, she has been dying to go out and can’t wait for me to take the no-lickey collar (also known as the Elizabethan collar) off her.

What has been kinda neat, however, is the fact that no she actually sleeps with me instead of sleeping on the other bed or chair at night. She does move away if I move, but she stays close unlike before. Which is really nice since she hasn’t done that since she was 5 months old.

Day [sic] trip to Buffalo

Last Saturday, I went to Buffalo for a day trip. Not just for fun, but to attend one of my friend’s wedding. I was fortunate enough to take a good bunch of pictures. Now the reason I point out that the day trip was not a day trip was simply because my flight got delayed and I ended up staying there over night anyway.

But then the drama continued, as they mentioned that my flight the following morning was at 8:20 am. Fortunately enough at 6 am I fonud out that the flight is actually at 6:20 am. Though I couldn’t get on the flight at least I got the next plane out for free at 7:15 am. This is to just point out the craziness that can happen on a ‘day trip’.

Let’s forget all of that. Indulge yourselves with the pictures from Buffalo.

Bollywood movies

People who know me also know that I am not the one to willingly see an Indian movie. The predictability of the movies and the amount of “tribute” scenes just make the whole experience unbearable. That said Taare Zameen Par came highly recommended by my sister, aunt, roommate, and a couple of friends. So finally today I made some time to see the movie.

Story of the movie is nothing that hasn’t been done before. There’s a boy who is dyslexic which is causing problems at school, along comes the savior and sorts it out. But just because it is not a novel story line doesn’t mean that it didn’t do a good job. The movie as a whole was simply brilliant. The cinematography is reminiscence of the likes of Finding Neverland. The kids acting was phenomenal. Even the songs weren’t that bad.

I would confess, however, that there was times through the movie where I thanked whoever discovered the 1.5x mode on video playback. The movie is 2.5 hours long, and sometimes you just wish things will go faster.
