While changing door locks are a very easy task, one should remember that sheet rocks are not meant to support 200 lbs.

Cats are curious beings. They don’t care if they have stuck in the attic as long as they are exploring. Once the exploration is over, however, they want to get down from there. Also there are cats who love to play with water.

In the end, it just feels weird. After constantly moving around every year for the last 6 years, it has become a part of me. In fact, it feels utterly weird to think that I might not move from where I am for quite a while now. It really is weird.

Anyway, here’s my new residence.

I wake up early this morning, so that I can play a bit with Sylvee before I come to work. Now that there is no internet at home, it is very convenient to give her some time. So I got ready for work and was playing with her when I happen to bump into alarm panel. Since I just talked with Brinks yesterday and they said that the system is inactive until I sign up for the monthly service and that I would need the phone line that I just canceled for that, I decided to test out the theory.

So I go downstairs and get the small guide that they left with the panel downstairs. And I press the buttons for it to activate. What do you know it, actually activated it. At this point I’m thinking “Oh shit! The system has motion sensors.” On looking at the disarming code, I make a major discovery. It needs the master code, which is in a file somewhere in my mess.

Just as I opened the door to the garage to find the folder the alarm went off. It was just a long beep at first. Within 2 minutes it was a blaring noise. All this is of course at the crack of dawn! It’s like 8 am! I’m running around going “Oh shit!” and Sylvee went and hid somewhere. After no luck finding the folder, I ended up calling Brinks and they walked me through disconnecting it. Thankfully I didn’t have neighbours looking at me and dogs barking and cop cars in front of my house.

Now I know that I really shouldn’t play with an alarm system when I don’t know the code for it.

It’s done. I’m stuck.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to announce that now I am finally *deep breath* a homeowner. Scary, let me tell you. I signed all the three million papers today morning after fighting the urge to wear my suit piece. Would have been seriously over dressed if I did But now it’s all done and I have it. I like it and come Spring it might just be a really cool place to hang out. I don’t have any pictures yet, but trust me they will be coming up ever so shortly. In mass volumes too, eventually. Anyone still holding on my old addresses, please contact me so that I can give you the new one.

In other news, I think I am finally going to get business cards at work. I guess after than there is no changing my job title
