Prepping for the trip

Once again I am preparing for a journey. However, this time the trip isn’t just going out of town somewhere. Neither is it a trip to Bangladesh. For the first time this centuary I am taking a trip as a vacation. New places. New scenary and hopefully a ton of pictures.

The whole thing starts this Saturday so as you might have guessed the countdown that has begun a while back still continues. The trip starts off at Istanbul and goes through Cyprus and then finally London. Fine, I’m going to London to meet people I haven’t met in a while. It has nothing to do with sight seeing, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t do any… may be. Only time will tell :)

Pheonix modifications: Part 4

Ever since I saw a short antenna on a tC in Davis, CA, I found the OEM antenna ridiculously long. I mean it’s 16″! Seen that I have checked the Scion catalogs casually over the next few years to see if they had any smaller antennas. All in vain.

Finally I have given up the idea of getting something from TRD or Scion and started looking on the internet. Of all the ones that I found this new one met what I wanted for an awesome price :)

Unlike the OEM, it’s nice small and still gets the job done. Not to mention that thanks to eBay, it also wasn’t that expensive at all. And everyone knows that swapping the antennas were just a piece of cake :)

Pheonix modifications: Part 2

As many of you may or may not know/remember, soon after I got Pheonix I added an iPod connector to the setreo system. This was largly due to the annoyances of switching FM stations for a good reception of the FM transmitter sitting in the car (Monster iCar Play Wireless) and creating mixed CDs that I actually want to listen to all  the time.

Yesterday, while scouring the interwebs in search of other information, I ran into this site, Your Scion tC .com. And it had a few more tricks that you could do for cheap or gratis. So what’s the first thing I did?

Neat, huh?
