Sights and signs around Dhaka

It has been a while people, and I’m still in Dhaka. Luckily my sister has managed to score a Bluetooth Dongle so I can finally post all those pictures that I have been filling up my phone with. Here are a few things that are around Dhaka that has little or nothing to do with the original franchise.

Macy's

And then there are the ones which are actually originals and are true to the chain.

Ok fine, the last image is a big blurry but it was pouring out there so I couldn’t really get a good shot. But you can see Colonel General don’t you?

And finally I just have to point this out since I didn’t know about Cyprus befure I met my friend from there at GATech. So here’s to Alper whose country is now a top educational destination in Bangladesh (apparently).

Day [sic] trip to Buffalo

Last Saturday, I went to Buffalo for a day trip. Not just for fun, but to attend one of my friend’s wedding. I was fortunate enough to take a good bunch of pictures. Now the reason I point out that the day trip was not a day trip was simply because my flight got delayed and I ended up staying there over night anyway.

But then the drama continued, as they mentioned that my flight the following morning was at 8:20 am. Fortunately enough at 6 am I fonud out that the flight is actually at 6:20 am. Though I couldn’t get on the flight at least I got the next plane out for free at 7:15 am. This is to just point out the craziness that can happen on a ‘day trip’.

Let’s forget all of that. Indulge yourselves with the pictures from Buffalo.

Of Crabs and Gators

Yesterday was our second day at Miami. Even though we are staying at Fort Lauderdale, we have been going to South Beach for all our beachiness. Yesterday, however, we did spend some time at Fort Lauderdale. We went to the lower parts of of the Everglades and got on a air-boat, drifted on water and saw a bunch of alligators.

Later at lunch we tried fried alligator, and I also tried a golden crab. The gator tasted great, I’ll try that again any day. The crab was good too, but by God it was a pain trying to get through all the shell and all. So no more fighting for crab meat for me. I’ll stick to the gators, chicken and fish.

Also news from the north says that Sylvee is doing fine. She’s a bit lonely, but I go back tomorrow and then it all goes back to normal.
