Rising stars!
Yesterday while surfing the web after actively chatting with a more than 2 people after a long time, I came across Rising Stars. This weekly newsletter has been an important part of my life thru high school. Though it wasn’t the first place where I got my stuff published, it was the first place where I would have gotten a column if I didn’t come to USA right around them.
Back in the day, when I was a complete geek hatching out of his shell, I realized that one thing that sucked in Bangladesh is the way they teach computer stuff. So me and a very geeky friend of mine, Sifat decided that we need to give the new generation a heads up. We decided on a string of arcicles that would talk at the teanager level and walk someone who doesn’t know anything about computers to something that they can at least do the day to day office work and may be even troubleshoot small things. After three articles we were requesting a column when I got admitted to Georgia Tech and everything just changed.
Actually come to think of it, I think my biggest motivator then was my first crush. We used to flirt around a lot of the phone and she knew nothing about computers. So I decide why not. Heh, I think it was taht which also put me in the lime light at my friend’s father’s institution. It was fun going back a year later and walking thru that institution as if I owned it. I need to do that again, though I doubt this time I’d have similar results.
Anyways, before I jump my thought train again, I’ll go back to work.
