Sources of knowledge

To many books are the ultimate source of knowledge. Some nowadays will say google it or check WikiPedia. Some will even admit that they learnt a lot from the TV. Amazing where all the different sources of knowledge are these days. Things are truly in multi-media. Now that always means that there are tons and tons of new places to get mis-information. Take this for example. Don’t you even ponder if you are misinformed?

  1. I try to, but is not trivial to keep yourself in check. I wonder if I can handle the truth. It seems like if I seek truth of what is happening in the world I become very depressed. But with respect with other truths I find that looking closer (ie community) offers the best results.

I’d actually say we are moving away from the ultimate view (at east us internet addicts). The one good thing about the multitude of information available now is you can seek out all different sources. But the new problem is finding reliable ones, which there are few. So everyone has to be a researcher and a journalist.

It’s crazy how people from the middle east are portrayed all of the time. But stereotypes start from a pattern. As someone I heard interviewed pointed out the problem is when people make these patterns the defining factors of an ethnic or national group.
