Thanx to Elmfu-man, I got to finally go and check what the whole situation was about. I can see now how some of the images were offensive. Some of the images clearly portrayed the recent terrorism focus put on Islam. I can’t get pissed off at the artist just yet becuz for me I realize that he’s a moron. But once I find out why he actually did it, I’m sure there will be more things to bitch about… like how he doesn’t have any general knowledge or just how stupid he is in general.
I’m not taking a side on this. I just want peace and any side taken on this matter will not really bring peace. Any peace brought forth for this situation will be only ephemeral. If only we could get lasting peace….
Whoever this is has no common sense… It is fine to make fun of trivial things, but this isn’t exactly trivial stuff… It’s like making fun of the Holocaust — you just don’t do it!
did u read about the historian who got sentenced to X years in prison for his opinion about the holocaust? the same hypocritical european countries that upheld freedom of expression (which i support whole heartedly) when the cartoons came out (in september, months ago, and we are only hearing about it now when iran is persuing “atomic energy” and getting refered to the IAEA… coincidence or foul play? seems like the world / washington lobbyists or whoever the fuck is hell bent on trashing believers of a philosophy – islam. more thouhts on that another time..) were the ones sentencing a man for having an opinion.
it seems like no one can question the holocaust or have an opinion about it besides the “facts” we read about in history books where 6 million jews were murdered… whereas, many historians would use 2-3 million as the number of ppl dying in the concentration camps which includes jews, cripples, gypsies, etc. no doubt jews were persecuted but you only hear about them in conjunction w/ the holocaust, if the cripples and the gypsies had representation / lobyists at DC, u would hear about their systematic extermination too!
all in all, freedom / democracy / the war on terrorism is a fcuking mockery to be laughed at!
