The marriage call

So my mom calls me today. She happened to talk with my sister who happens to be in a .. well .. different kind of mood. Anyways, so after a little chit chat my mom starts talking about me getting married and all that. Which always leds me wonder. I mean really now, marriage can’t be the only solution to being lonely, can it? There has got to be another. However, I won’t deny that having a companion (of the opposite sex) would be great at this point in life.

  1. I would have to say that coming from a culture where marriage is arranged at a semi-young age, your mom is probably just going with what she knows best. She was younger than you when she and your dad got married, right? She probably just wants you to be as happy as they were/are — and knowing that she wasn’t lonely anymore once she got married probably helps her to draw the very logical conclusion that marriage is one way (albeit not the only way) to beat loneliness.

  2. dude, your situation is sombre. i see four, relatively quick, solutions:

    1. start hitting gentlemen’s clubs.
    2. get a blow-up doll.
    3. dial 1-800-Hot-Babe for hot phone-sex.
    4. hang out with me and tanbir in nyc for a week.

the 4th one is my favorite.

  3. 1. Gent’s clubs don’t work for me. I like dance clubs better.
    2. I doubt a blow up doll will talk back to me and be girlie :P
    3. Don’t you mean 1-900-Hot-Babe, where I say $9.99 per minute (pronounce mi-nute).
    4. We still need to plan that out. And now that I am probably not going to UK….

  4. I like to think of myself as a smart girl, but there are a ton who are smarter than me. At least I’m not like Dubbya who has called himself “the Decider”. HAHA – That’s so funny!
